The first time I visited the Colosseum I was thirteen years old and visiting with my family. We had been travelling in Europe for about a month and by the time we arrived in Rome, our last stop of the trip, I was so sick. I couldn't see properly, had absolutely no energy, couldn't walk anywhere and had such a high fever. I needed to be in bed to rest it off, but my family wanted to visit some sights and my mum refused to leave me in the hotel, so we left for the Colosseum.

A Walking Tour of Rome
Thursday, 8 December 2016The last stop on our Italian road trip before flying out to our next destination was Rome. We had two nights and one full day in the ancient capital of Italy, and boy did we have a lot to cram into a short space of time. Laura had visited Rome a couple of times in the last few years, so she had planned a hectic waking tour for us to see all of the sights in one day. If you're planning a similar itinerary make sure you're wearing very comfortable walking shoes and bring a water bottle and sunscreen, you're definitely going to need it!

Pitt Stop at the Leaning Tower of Pisa
Monday, 5 December 2016We departed the Cinque Terre and were heading south towards Rome when we decided to make a small pitt stop at the Leaning Tower of Pisa. We were so close, it would be silly not to right? After an extreme detour caused by an arrogant navigator (the device, not a person) we finally exited the hills surrounding the Cinque Terre and made it to Pisa, a city in the region of Tuscany perched on the River Arno. Detouring to Pisa didn't add too much driving time to our day so we thought it would make the perfect place to stop and have a break.

Exploring The Cinque Terre
Thursday, 1 December 2016
The Cinque Terre is one of those beautiful parts of the Italian Coastline that dreams are made of. Five tiny fishing villages made up of cute colourful houses tumbling down the rocky hills right to the ocean filled with fishing boats. The surrounding hills are full of olive groves and vineyards, offering authentic local Italian produce. Located in the Liguria region of Italy, making up part of the Italian Riviera and just west to the city of La Spezia, the five towns of the Cinque Terre make up a National Park and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Riomaggiore and Manarola are connected by a beautiful 12km hiking trail, which offers stunning views over each of the five villages, as well as the Italian Riviera and the ocean and is definitely the best way to explore the region. If you're planning your trip to this picture perfect pocket of Italy here is your complete guide.

Why You Need To Visit Venice
Wednesday, 30 November 2016
So, I have decided that I would like to be perfectly 100% honest with everyone. As terrible as it sounds (and I know how bad it sounds) I have found it incredibly difficult and uninspiring to put together my posts about my recent trip to Europe. It just feels a little bit like there are a million blogs and websites about Europe and it's difficult to find something new, interesting or helpful to share with you! However, the trip was wonderful and I loved taking photos in what has to be one of the most photographed continents on Earth. So I am still going to share my journey in the most honest and authentic way I can, which might not always be the most chronological but will hopefully still be inspiring.
