Top 10 Sydney Coastal Walks

No matter how long or short your stay is in Sydney, you must do at least one coastal walk. The city of Sydney is surrounded by so many beautiful beaches, bays, coastal walks as well as bushland, and they are so easy to explore, you would be silly not to! Check out the below ideas for ten beautifully stunning coastal walks around Sydney.

Bondi to Bronte
A 4km coastal walk that takes the top spot on lots of Sydney bucket lists. It’s the most famous walking track in Sydney, and for very good reason! It’s easy to get to and travels between two of Sydney’s best known beaches. Beautiful views all the way. Image found here.

Manly to Spit Bridge Scenic Walk
Weaving through a mixture of bushland and scenic beach side trials, this beautiful 10km walk is a series of short tracks through some of North Sydney’s most stunning beaches. The trail can takes between 3 to 4 hours to complete, depending on your pace and fitness level, and offers spectacular views across Sydney Harbour, including the Grotto Point Lighthouse and Sydney Harbour National Park.

Bondi to Coogee
A cliff top coastal walk, the Bondi to Coogee walk extends for six kilometres between the two beaches. The coastal walk features stunning views, beaches, parks, cliffs, bays and rock pools along the way. Image found here.


Blue Gum Walk
Definitely a track for those who love to explore. Only a twenty minute walk from Hornsby train station, this 4.3km track ventures into Old Mans Valley amongst the Sydney Blur Gums. Image from Wikipedia.


Manly to Shelly Beach
A flat, easy walk that’s super easy and extremely pretty. A good one for those who don’t like long walking trails or who might be less physically able. The short walk hugs the coastline from Manly Beach to Shelly Beach.

Rose Bay to Watson’s Bay
A beautiful 8km walk that can take up to 4 and a half hours if you stop along the way. Start early in the morning to beat the heat and celebrate the end with fish and chips at Watson’s Bay. Images found here.

Wooloomooloo to Circular Quay
Starting at Wooloomooloo Wharf you pass the stunning views of both Sydney Harbour Bridge and Sydney Opera House as you walk past the Botanical Gardens and around the bay.

Bundeena Drive to Marley
The shorter of the two Royal National Park walks, this trail is about 3.23km long and takes you around Wattamolla. The walk definitely gets a little more difficult than expected, so it’s a good idea to wear supportive shoes and take some water with you. Make sure you stop for a photo at the Wedding Cake Rock.


Seven Bridges Walk
Get on board the annual Cancer Council charity walk that takes you 27km over the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Pymont Bridge, Anzac Bridge, Iron Cove Bridge, Gladesville Bridge, Turban Creek Bridge and Fig Tree Bridge. This year the event is being held on October 25. Image found here.

Clovelly to Maroubra
5.5km of amazing coast on this two hour walk. While there are a few sections of the path that leave the waters edge, the walk generally follows the shoreline, alternating from concrete to boardwalk to beach sand. Image found here.
